A Premium Island Gallery
For eighteen months I have been attempting to capture that moment just after a Great Blue Heron strikes at
its prey. To accomplish the task I needed to anticipate the strike before it actually happened. The camera is
much faster than my eye to hand coordination.
This morning set up in the blind, the water surface was calm and serene. This male mallard duck was content to venture close. I set up the blind a couple of days in advance to let the local wildlife grow accustomed. Arriving at 6am, the morning light is perfect.
